Cooling Tower service personnel worldwide asked for time-saving alternatives to film fill replacement _ so SPX Cooling Technologies delivered the Marley fill.
SPX has unveiled MBX high-performance fill _ a crossflow film-fill system specifically designed for maintenance and replacement productivity. Compared to traditional hanging fill, MBX can reduce installation time by up to 40 percent while offering greater cooling efficiency without major tower structural modifications
Frame All supporting structures are hot-DIP galvanized steel to minimize rusting and corrosion ensuring long life. Stainless steel frame is available as optional.
Casing Made of Fiberglass Reinforced Polyester, it is light weight, easy to assemble, no painting required and thus reducing maintenance cost.
Inspection doors are furnished to provide convenient access to the interior for inspection, maintenance, adjustment of float valve, cleaning of lift-out strainer and flushing out the sump.
Motor The fan motors are totally Enclosed weatherproof type. The motors are mounted on easily adjustable base located outside the the fan stack ensuring lower noise level.
Drive The fans are gearbox driven and are located in the bottle neck of fan stack ensuring free and smooth air discharge and thus improving the efficiency with low energy consumption.
Fan Aerofoil shaped fans are made of FRP with an additional epoxy coating for the resitance of ultra violet ray and acid rain corrosion. The hubs are of cast Aluminium alloy.
The veritcal air discharge of the fan design and the distance between the discharge air and fresh air intakes reduces the chance of air re-circulation since the warm humid air is directed up and and way from the unit.
Stack is made of FRP. The aerodynamic fan deign and the location of fan provide more than 10% power saving. Not only that because of the longer stack, it discharges the hot moist air away from the tower so as to minimize the chance of re-circulation.
The Hot Water distribution trays are made of FRP, which specially designed for non-clogging operation and easy inspection. A distribution cap is attached on top and prevents water from splashing out and a redistribution layer of PVC mesh is placed on top of the fills to provide full coverage of the fills by gravity
